Running a release off a moor 900 subtrol

Hi was wondering with a moor subtroll could run a black release above the probe and the signal go through the metal connector on the release or does the probe have to be connected and the end of the coated cable

Yup,  my blacks is hooked directly to my probe. Under the probe is cable then ball obviously.
