Jigging for Salmon - Swimbaits and Jigging Spoons

Hey guys,

 

Over the past 3 years I have explored a new technique (jigging) to target salmon. My initial interest was peaked through some fishing guys up on lake michigan that were already doing it so i figured i would give it a shot. my first 2 years were spent targeting salmon using jigging spoons and flutter spoons and last year i finally had one of those days where they were chewing hard. With that now in my back pocket, i figured i would explore fishing plastics. This year i fully committed to plastics and i was rewarded nicely with some quality fish and some crazy action with kings chasing the baits up the water column.

 

I put a little video together that captures both some great rigger and dipsey bites, but also those jigged fish on plastic with garmin panoptix footage showing how they chase.

 

Is anyone else playing with swimbaits for kings? id love to learn more about this stuff.
