Wire set- up reel?

I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but what reel would you use for copper and how many feet of copper do most use? Is it common to let out more than 400' of copper? Thanks.

Check out this page from A-tom-mik. It shows how much copper the Penn reels hold. Also, yes it is common to let out more than 400ft of copper. 400ft will get you approx. 80-90 feet down and is a common length used. I hope this helps. http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/reels.htm
