for sale : usa Sketchy User

Is there a way to report a user to admin? I just got a PM from a new user on a wanted post I listed. When I went to put him on ignore it came up as 2 similar screen names so I'm pretty sure he's tried this before.

On any forum if you post a WTB item. 99% of the time a scammer is going contact you. They will say I have friend at this email that is selling the item your looking for.  They may send you pics of the item and have a real low price on it. You have to be careful and like you did see how many previous post they have.

the Admin is Chad and his username is BlueEye…you can submit a support request or PM him directly.  Unfortunately, these knucklehead scammers are trolling LOC and similar sites for ISO or WTB posts.  Because I work in cybersecurity and have connections with LE I did some forensics and turned over the individuals preps geoloc and ISP info to the appropriate LE cybercrime unit.

i also recommend to LOC administrator that they restrict all new users accounts from accessing the For Sale area of LOC until they have accrued a specific amount of legit time on the site.  The scammers’s MO is to typically review the For Sale posts as a guest looking for ISO/WTB posts then they create a new account to begin phishing the poster… like your experience they will tell the target something like “hey my buddy so-and-so has whatever you are looking for…contact him at this email….”  This takes the scam off LOC’s server to server that it’s total compromised by the scammers.  So best to avoid any PM or post that asks to to go to another email or website as the perps with try to infect your device with malware.
