Waterspouts

When i was a very young man, my grandfather had a little piece of glow tape on the throttle.  He told me, "never push it past this mark".  One day we were out on the lake in crap conditions and he says, "Get those rods out of the water, we gotta go".  So I do my thing, not to shook up about any of it.  Then I watched him hit the throttle as soon as the sea-bag was out of the water...PAST THE TAPE.  I got a little concerned and then saw the waterspout on the side window.  It'll make a seasoned salt **** his slickers.  Weather is an untamable force of nature baby!

Has anyone ever heard of these spouts getting onto land or onto one of the bays?

Anybody remember years ago when one of our members got spun by a water spout? It ended up twisting his downrigger cables around each other, but otherwise ended safely.

About a month ago, a funnel was reported forming over I-Bay, but didn't come down.

Then it would be a landspout.
