Browns will be found along the entire shoreline not just off the tribs.  They are a little more spread out at this time of the year but you can have great days brown fishing at this time of the year,

I do that a lot. Usually on one those beautiful almost windless quiet fall days. Usually in 30 to 50 feet. No other boats around which makes it very relaxing. I usually run leadcore and follow a serpentine pattern so the lures are not on the same track as the boat. Once I catch the first one, I mark the spot and circle around it going over it again and again. Often there are under water springs where the browns gather because of temperature differences near the springs. As October turns into November the browns get smaller. I think that is because the bigger ones go into the creeks. I usually winterize after thanks giving.
