Is anyone fishing the finger lakes is everyone getting ready for hunting just checking itching to get some landlocks or rainbows

Hi Harvey,

I fished the south end of Cayuga, east side, yesterday afternoon for about 2 hours.  3 bows, 1 brown.  One good bow was 8.6 pounds 27.75 inches, great fight!  Other bows small, brown about 3 pounds with gorgeous colors.  Big bow in 96 ft of water, 30 ft down, other bows and brown in 50-60 ft of water.  Marking fish in shallow and deep right now.

Great looking fish!  The increased numbers of Rainbows stocked in Cayuga the past few years is starting to pay off

You're right, Doc!  I found 2024 to be a specacular year as far as the number of rainbows I encountered.  Didn't keep track but I feel like I may have caught as many or more bows than lake trout this year.  I don't remember that happening before.

I'm jealous as you are getting to fish on these beautiful weekdays.  Keep posting pics as very uplifting to see what the lake is serving up!!
