What size divers have you been running? And what depths are you targeting?(I agree with other guys that said braid or wire is preferred but I do know some people prefer mono for shallow applications)

I never had any luck running any type of diver on mono line. IF you run 40lb braid or 30lb wire you shouldn't have any problems. I personally run 30lb wire with the dreamweavers and have never had any issues.

Agreed. We only run wire on our 2 diver/ side dipsy program on Ontario. In May we often will run a Braid slide diver shallow with a dipsy deeper on each side . On Erie we run 3 divers per side, 1 deep wire mag, 2 regular on braid .

When the fleas show up thin diameter line will load up. I run 80lb braid not for strength, but because it’s similar in diameter to 30lb mono which makes fleas a non issue.

Keep in mind that wire divers have a distinct sonic signature different from that of braid. If and when the fish are aggressive ( July here in Olcott) it is typically a very productive combo. Slide divers on braid with spoons can be very effective in May and when the bite is off I like to have 1 in the water too.
