I Tried Bloodrun sea flee line. It did not work Trolling L. Ontario off Niagara county. We used bump up to 30lb at mid summer, now we run 40lb. The 40lb does the job doesn't seem to hurt our catch. Big game preferred.

By design its a larger diameter 30# test with a special coating on it. It 100% helps. My disclaimer is when fleas are horrible there really isnt any perfect answer. But I will say when the fleas are bad its nice to have a couple of reels loaded up and ready to go.

Andre,

I believe Relax uses it. You'll find him on Lake Champlain United.

It absolutely works. I typically run 40lb braid on riggers. Once fleas get bad I switch to sea flee. It’s much better with the downside of more blowback and harder to trip releases. I hate mono, but I hate fleas more.

I fully agree with Rob. I have used it on all my rigger rods for about ten years or so. As said there is no PERFECT answer when the fleas are highly dense but under the usual conditions it works well. There may be a caveat though when the coating on it dissipates over time (possibly UV etc. it can lose a little of its slipperyness, and there is some additional stretch to it compared with Big Game (which I also use for some things), but I have not found this to be a significant problem. I should also mention that some of my reels have had it on for nearly that long with just some yearly trimmings where the above may appear to have occurred, or any abrasions. I know some folks change lines very frequently but this stuff has not lost strength nor have I had any problems with it. It is a slightly larger diameter than 30 lb. Big Game mono but it is much more "supple" than 40 lb anything. Just some reflections to consider.

Don't reinvent the wheel . Use 30 # Big Game or something similar  something . Heck ,I  have even used

the cheap Zebco from Walmart and it worked fine . Some of you guys just look for ways to waste your money .

Go to WalMart and get 50 lb Shakespeare.  It is quite large in dia so the fleas cannot grab it. It is also very inexpensive.  Put on about 200 ft, this is enough to cover your vertical member from the  down riggers. Put on about 20 ft or so of 25 lb test leader to cover the distance behind the ball.  Problem solved.  Pay attention to knots so you don't have a problem thru the rod eyes and level wind on the reel. Has been working for me for many years.
