Scotty or cannon digitroll-5?

I currently have the opportunity of purchasing a set of downriggers for same price......

Set of scotty with dual rodholders and 2' booms with bases. Used 5 or 6 seasons....or...

Cannon digi-troll-5 with dual rodholders and based. Used one season.

Price per set is $500

Which would you guys choose?

guessing the scotty are the set on market place down in PA....I wont call on them if so.....lol

absolutely nothing wrong with the digitroll 5,i have them on both my boats for many years now with hundreds of hours on them and never had one issue with them other then cables breaking on them when they were brand new.if anything,replace the cable just to be safe.also,the digitroll 5 should have an extendable booms.

I have 3 Scotty 2116s have had zero problems for 12 years. Previous I had Cannon mag 10s for almost 20 years. Used to run 4 Cannons on my old boat but I owned 5 cause one of the Cannons was always in shop for repair. Sold old boat with 5 Cannon riggers. Put new Scottys on"new to me boat" 12 years ago. No problems no regrets.
