Stacy Furgal and New York Sea Grant be hosting a workshop titled, "Lake Ontario Fisheries Biology for Anglers" on Saturday March 22, from 9am-3pm at SUNY Oswego. NYSG will be bringing in scientists from NY Sea Grant, SUNY Oswego, and USGS to give anglers a chance to learn about the methods and techniques that biologists use to study the lake. There will be a combination of short talks and lots of hands-on learning, doings things like removing alewife otoliths, using a microscope to estimate alewife ages, looking at coded wire tags and fish diets, and more.
