I saw a couple posts on the channel getting dredged starting early March with completion by early April

Thanks

Dredge it all you want, without jetties, it's still a ****ty channel that will fill in quickly.

And if the lake level doesn’t get close to the long term average it’s going to be even worse. All the Great Lakes are low right now with Ontario the lowest since 2003.

The good thing is, we have a huge snowpack on Tug Hill and the entire Ontario Watershed.  Add that to a dysfunctional water level regulatory agency and we should have high water this year!

how much more money would it have cost to build a wall going out in the lake when they were already building the first wall

Probably not much more.  You know as well as I do Dave that without it, a channel at Braddocks will always be an issue.   If they do it someday, more guys would keep their boats there that fish the lake.

They will never do that.  The only reason the do Braddocks is because it has a couple marinas.

the barge and dredge are floating all the pipes are ready to be loaded.  also there is a sign saying no lake access till dredging is complete

Makes sense Dave there is a lot of pipe. Curious to see which side they discharge to.

Probably East of the channel so the first East blow fills it back it.

It  depends on how deep they dig the channel.. this little dredge has quite the depth capacity

Wonder what it drafts and how easy it will get out there.

Pump it to rosies.

Great question. Water levels are very low now. If it drafts 30 inches or less I think it might be a while.

Pumping it around only moves the problem around

If as I presume, it is sand, I would do as the Dutch do all the time. They would pump it to low places on land. Every day when it is dry enough, push it up into a pile until there is a very big pile of sand/fill. Truck it away and put it to good use.

The dutch have at least a thousand years of successful dealing with water, muck, sand, wind and waves. so we might just as well use their tricks.

i’m not sure of the process being used

I was at the marina this afternoon and the Dredge and barge were jockeying around a bunch of pipe in the launch area

However this is going to play out it looks like it is about to begin
