boy It didn't fight like a laker and it was very light in color and you cant really tell from the picture but it had a lot of yellow around the spots and it hit in 25 fow 10ft down...I'm gonna feel like an ass if its a laker...lol I was looking at pictures of Splake cause i've never seen one before and thought it looked really similar.

I am thinking laker that lake is great only been there a few times but just so nice and to not have the speed boats burning by is just great

Hello: I have caught many splake in Maine over the years, that does not quite look like one, not saying it is not, but most likely a small laker, otherwise a nice splake. Splake have more of an initial brook trout look to them, spots are also tighter and have a little more color to them, your son really looks happy either way, good job.

Not real up on Honeoye L. other than what I read, are there splake in the lake??

I say hands down a laker, fin clip and all.
