April fishing

So as I was eating breakfast this morning in the diner I hear talk of a group of people who have been given permission from the DEC to fish for walleyes in the month of April. This was a st Lawrence county diner and I havnt heard anything about such a thing in Jeff.co. Anyone else hear of anything like this???

Skaneateles Lake no limits, no season for walleye. Without any other info, that would be the only thing I can think of.

I found out the state is doing a pilot study to try and justify the end of the stocking program in st Lawrence county. Seems as tho they may have put the horse before the cart imho. But that’s neither here nor there.
