So,  not a big fan of braid but going out with a local young man to teach him some things.   All he's got is braid rods.    I want to target some coho with a 6" spin doctor and fly.  We will certainly use some spoons too with a 8' flouro leader off the braid. BUT Question.  I can't surely run the spin doc off the braid can I ? With a 24" leader to the fly?  Or do I need to run a section of mono tied into the braid, then the flasher then the leader?   Seems crazy. IDK.

OR  what if I used my one or two color LC?  that would need a section of mono , then the dodger/flasher then leader?

I run small spin dr.'s on braid all the time. Peanut flies, 4" mylar style flies and spoons all run fine. If your concern is the lack of stretch in the braid, the key is properly set drags and a good rod with fast action (rod bends from tip through mid section, sufficient backbone near the handle)
