SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

toook my buddy and my father in law. we entered the one day friday derby at the oak.

So off we go, cruising along, and my hat blew off (lucky sabres hat) out in the middle of the lake, so we turn around and cant find it.... off we go again. found it 1/2 hr later stuck in the rocket launcher.

Then a little later we are ready to set up and the down temp doesn't give any speed, just says zero miles per hour. its a canon, and all the other things work, little wheel is spinning, just doesnt work.

So we just guess on speed by looking at rods.

630 am - all set up, 6 rods in water, dipsey goes off, 20 lb king in the boat......

then we got a 9 lb king andout 7:30..

then about 10:30 my buddy catches a 22 lb er on a spoon of the rigger...the fish hit and ran straight at the boat and right past and was out in fron of the boat. never saw that before.

then later another small salmon and a laker and dropped a smaller one......

we got second in the little derby and second biggest fish, and won some bucks, and had a great time doing it...

now i just gotta fix the probe...

Mountain goat,

I saw you guys at the weigh in. Nice box of kings for a real tough day for everyone across the board. Congrats on the 2nd place finish. We ended up 6th with 3 big lakers. slow pick on kings for us until the sun came out and then it was laker time.

The dipsey fish was 220' out on the farthest away from the boat setting. over 160 fow. green spinny, green fly.

The rigger fish was 52' down over 140. stinger kevorkian.

the others we caught were scattered between 90' and 170'

we mostly did north - south trolls all morning trying to find anything consistant. All our fish were an hour apart, not really any fasy action.

It was cool at that meeting thing last night seeing a lot of the faces I see on this iste.

Pretty sure I saw gambler, yankee troller, chromeslayer, and a few others.
