Fishing in Irondequoit Bay or closeby in the Lake

Hi Everyone,

My dad is coming up from Buffalo this weekend and wanted to go fishing either in the bay or in the lake but not too far out. Growing up we would go fishing outside of Fort Niagara with 20ft depths and troll for largemouth. We're working with a 20ft boat but don't have the equipment to be fishing far out in the lake for the larger fish. Where would anyone recommend that we go in I-bay or in the lake to fish this weekend? I've always read that I-bay is known for it's perch? How is the bass fishing? Any good spots?

My buddy has been doing some nice pike in the South end of the bay along the weedlines and drop offs. He has been casting spoons and spinerbaits. He had a couple 32 - 36"ers the past cuple weekends. The largemouth are still shallow on beds.

Thanks for the info! We'll have to check out the south end for those pike.

Anywhere else in the bay that's worth taking a look at?

Both the East and West sides have been good. By the Bluffs South of Glenn Edith and infront of the condos on the West side.
