They're back! :@

Early too! I honestly think its due to the Cornell Lake source cooling, dumping warm water into the south end making for a weedfest.

Sucks!

Which side is better the east or west. Seneca i s getting the same way the west side was worse than the east. It was a challenge on sunday

The zebra mussels contribute a lot to increased weed growth. As we know they make the water clearer resulting in more sunlight getting to the bottom and ultimately more weeds! ;(

Is the whole lake bad or just the south end? I know last summer I launched out of Frontenac this time of year and had to clean my prop 7 times while heading south and I only went about 3 miles.

Fished near the Silos on Cayuga's North end on Wednesday- weeds were horrible. Weeds are the result of increased water clarity due to the zebra mussels. This has resulted in weed beds in deeper water (great for pike).

About lake source cooling. Weeds are a problem on Seneca and the other Finger Lakes which have no lake source cooling, but has plenty of zebras. Also, Lake Source Cooling releases 54 degree water into the lake, so the released water is "warmer" in the Winter, but it is actually releasing cool water into warmer water this time of year!!!

I hear that Cornell wants to add to the sytem they already have? I think that is a bad idea, I have lived and fished on that lake all my life and I do see a change at the south end of the lake. I dont know if its from mussels or the cooling system or the sewage systems at that end but they need to stop and think about before increasing that cooling system.
