So we tryed out the probe on the new boat and it worked for about a minute and then the sreen went blank all it had was the dashed lines. We got it back for about 30 sec and that was it . Any ideas on where to start the troublshoot. Brand new batteries before it went in the water. Funds are not there to afford a new one yet so I hope to be able to fix it. We only had it down 50 over 90 fow if that helps.

check the wires that are solder on the battery connection inside the probe, one may have broken off. i had that happen once and did the exact same thing your talking about or your transducer may not be angled the right way and you may have to much blow back for it to read. You may want to try to drop the rigger down while not under power and see if reads. Hope this helps.
