Sport Pilot X-5 & Lowrance GPS

Not receiving GPS data. I hooked up the yellow + and shield - from the Lowrance power cable to the NMEA in on the course computer, GPS is set to send NMEA on the comm. port. I did not hook power to the NMEA 2000 buss, could that be my problem? Wasn't sure if I had to power the NMEA 2000 buss to transmit NMEA 0183 from GPS to autopilot course computer? Lowrance is now Navico and the customer support is lacking to say the least. Other than that Autopilot works fine.

You have to turn on the outputs in the gps menu of the Lowrance unit.
