Cannon Downrigger and Sub-troll 900

I am looking to purchase new electric cannon downriggers with positive ion control. My question is can you run a sub-troll 900 off the same down rigger, if so do you have to disaable the positive ion control. If you don't have to disable it do you run the plastic coated cable or the cable that come on the downrigger. I know you can run uncoated cable, but you loose dept. Any help will be appreciated.

I run cannon down riggers with the Sub troll. Use the coated cable and you won't have any problems with the positive ion control or lose of depth. Just follow the directions on installing the sub troll.

Do you know in the positive ion control is effective with the coated cable?

Not sure however I can tell you that I have taken many fish from that rigger. With the addition of down speed and temp, you'll be putting more fish in your baot regardless of brand or positive ion control. Gary
