SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILSI have a question about the leader lenth between flasher and fly i'm told this is critical and was wondering what most people run i was told 18 inches not a mm more or less is it really that presice also how far behind cannon ball is best i always seem to have more luck with j-plugs so i suspect im doing something wrong with flasher/flies...thanx

I run leads 18 - 32". Some days one is better than the others. I let the fish tell me what one they want. If you run Spin Doctors, run them o the more action side and a fly back 32" will still have plenty of action.

21-24inch for me... my best seems to be 22in or so

If you're having better luck on j plugs I suspect you are running your flasher flies too fast. Just a thought.

I've had trouble running both together. Maybe try a j plug, mag spoon program, or a flasher, flutter spoon program depending on how fast they want it.
