Now that my post re: trolling plates vs. bags has fortified my decision. Any thoughts on fishfinders/sonar? I really would like to get a new one, with an internal GPS. Thanks!

If you want a stand alone unit I would go with the Furuno FCV620 for the FF. IF you want a combo unit, I would look at the new Garmin combo units out this year. Not sure what your budget is, I have a Garmin545 coming for my GPS. I know that all the new Garmin units have the internal antenae(sp). Good Luck.

I second the Furuno FCV620...Got my first trip of the season Friday with this unit and was more than pleased..... a ton of features and easy to use. The Furuno website has a nice tutorial on this unit .

My choice is Lowrance LCX-113 HD. You can get this with or with out the GPS. The single frequency transducer works better the duel frequency transducer. PJN
