SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Fished Tuesday through Friday from Sandy Pond west and south. Reading fish and bait from 85-115 daily. Only saw about 10 other fish boated in the three days. Tough fishing. Wednesday went out and was back at the dock by 9:00 as the westwind was to much to battle (7 footers). Thursday boated 26.5 King 95 down in 105 feet on Green Dolphin SD with Hammer Fly early. Thought it was going to be a great day. Lost another fish on wire 275 out/117 with NBK. Came back with just a separated O ring on the wire. Could this have been because the tension was too tight? First time using wire. Fished to 2:00 Pm not another hit. Back out Tuesday evening 6;00PM boated three fish in first half hour on SD & Hammer fly (24# King), 12# coho on light green SD w/ chartruese and white fly. 1 king 26.5# 280 on wire # 115 feet white E-chip w/ Hammer fly. Friday had one other king 17#on wire 280 out in 115" on White e-chip and hammer fly. Lost another on the wire on the surface. That was it. Out again Friday night. Not even a hit. Saturday decided to go home as the wind picked up.

All in all It was a disappointing trip. Did anyone do well in that area during those days? I am interested to see what we were doing wrong.

Wire has zero shock absorbtion, drag on reel must be set as light as possible (should click once and awhile ), tension on dipsey set just enough to not false release. In waves it is hard to adjust.
