probe to rigger connection?

I have found other post on this but where does your line release go above or below the probe? I have a release that attaches directly to the cable with crimps, it looks like a bullet that you snap the line in the back part. any help with pictures would be great.

The release should be above the probe, as far as using crimps on your probe? I know a few people that do it but I dont trust crimps with my probe and use the wire line knot. I do use one crimp to keep the excess cable neat but its basically looped onto itself just like you would use on your wire diver set ups. The weight of the downrigger weight will help snug it tught but this knot will NOT fail you.
