SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

I took a derby partner with me last night. Set up with two riggers 40' and 85', 500' copper.

At around 7 p.m., the rod fired and the king took gator spin doc with Atomik fly.

Had a nice 15 minutes battle with a KING. Just under 20#. Fish releases successfully! :yes:

No spoon bites off the rigger. Tried numerous spoons with green colors, watermelon, 42nd. No dice.

I will head out tonight with non derby friends from Utah. My Utah friend has fished for rainbow and cut throat trout in the mountain creeks. I hope to show him how big our fish are in our backyard. It will be an eye opener if he gets to fight a king!

Best of luck to the LOC participants!
