what is the outlook for fishing mid september?

I plan to fish Lake Ontario salmon the weekend of 9/19 and was wondering if it is too late in the season. I plan to fish out of Port Bay and was told that I should be fishing outside of Salmon River as the salmon are heading into the river at that time. Any thoughts?

I'll be fishing my last trip that weekend, and it will be at the Salmon River. If we are lucky, there will still be some active fish in the thirty-foot water!

gosh no! There will still be fish out in the lake by next week. Salmon river has already had a nice run up the river and this will continue through Oct.

Even with the run in full swing in the near future, there's still plenty of cohos, juvenile kings, browns and rainbows in the lake, so don't let that stop you! We will fish through October for sure.
