bottom cleaning

I had the boat winterized this week and one of the services offered was bottom cleaning. I live in Vermont so I am planning to leave the boat at the Lake for the winter. Should I pay $110.00 for bottom cleaning or go up and clean it myself. Is there any products that you guys would reccomend? I was thinkinking of using the cleaning agent in one bucket and rinse water in another. Any advise?? PJ

I use to use acid when I left mine In the water.It was a nasty job. Pay the buck & stay home. Sounds cheap to me if you have to travel far to do it.

Travel, gas money, meals, work and acid wash and your time will be alot more than $110, stay home and drink beer

Pj - that's a pretty great deal on cleaning your hull - I agree with everyone that you should pay the $110.00 to have it done.

Watch out for those 3000 psi washers. They take tires off rims, crack fiberglass, bend metal, destroy paint, and put water where it shouldn't go like under distributor caps.

Thats pretty cheap.

I would think $10 per foot for be more of the going rate for slmall boats. More when you get bigger.

so unless you have a pressure washer ( I have one for sale a Honda 5 HP 2400 psi $250 if you like) ( I need to get a bigger ,3000 psi unit)
