Moved to Rochester from Midwest few years back, heading down to Waneta mid-October, Typically have casted large in line buclktails as a practice. Waneta should I change it up and go little smaller or large crankbaits?

Or don't waiste tima and head to Chataqua

if you have time and the means I highly recommend chautauqua. :D waneta is small and the little bit of good weeds get pounded pretty hard. if you do hit waneta I would downsize a bit...the fish tend to be on the smaller side.

bucktails would be a good idea for the weeds, but there is also a suspended fishery that i think deserves as much attention if not more than the weeds. good luck. if you don't get them on the weed flats or edges you then go to the open water. good luck. mid-october you may see the fish starting to go deep so weed edges may be better than the flats.
