Just read on the front page of the 20 April ed. of Rochester Business Journal: RG&E has decided to reverse its 2003 decision to close Russell Station. They're now saying that they are going to invest in the clean air technology to handle the air pollution. Roughly $500Million.

(Wonder if they're going to want my $7.32 share from the sale of Ginna back?)

:D

I have mixed feelings about this. I like fishing at Russell when other tribs are muddy. The problem is 90% of the people there are lifting or snagging.

I am glad to hear that they are going to invest the money. I have been fishing there since the early 70's and it's one of my favorite places. I think Gambler's estimate is pretty close during the Salmon and Brown run, but for the most part the people that fish there regularly are not snaggers or lifters. Enforcement by the DEC has had an impact on the amount of snagging/lifting that takes place during the runs the last 2 yrs.
