You know, i try to do things right. Scouting, scent control, stand placement, and i make sure to always hunt the right wind for every stand. So is it bad luck if...the very first thing of the deer season that walks past your tree stand is a SKUNK? Should i call it a season or should i hope that theres a Native American "good luck skunk" story out there somewhere that can save me?

I think it is good luck, especially if he sprays somewhere near the stand. Good scent cover  Now a huge buck will come by and think nothing of the aroma and figure that no self respecting hunter would ever come near this spot. He will feel safe in your presence.

PS..ask omganothershortfatbaldone Indian name for Ray...he rubs a skunk on himself...hunts deer and comes home with a bear. He should have a very good Indian story for you.

if its a male skunk it will spook the deer if its a female the spray will bring in the biggest buck you ever saw, just run right up behind it and lift its tail and check first.
