Fished for perch at the channel markers on Thursday with dad. Ended up taking home 64 perch from 10 - 13"and one 12" crappie. Minnows fished on the bottom seemed best. Fishing was a lot slower than the past couple of years. The size was there but the numbers seemed down to me. The docks were still in but not much longer.

WOW! That is a lot better than it's been. I hope to get out tomorrow.

The big perch were a first light bite and then done. Had to weed through dinks to get the rest. Talked with a guy at the launch that said 25 FOW South of the bridge was good for him. Where South of the bridge, I have no idea. It did look like there were some boats just South of the bridge opposite the Newport house. Good luck.

There's still one dock in at the bay.

Took about 20 nice 12-13 inchers. Also saw 2 Brown Trout taken at the markers.

I hear rumor from another site (iceshanty) that a 18" 2.7 perch was taken on I bay this fall. Anyone hear of this? Sure would like to see a pic.

Pete that works in Gander Mountain saw the pics. I believe it was caught by one of the perch charters (Capt. Chas from Oak).
