have a model 37 16 ga serial 1949982. anybody know the year ? value?

I have a "old" gun trader's guide 1981 so the price would be way off but the 16 ga. would be 1973 or before. Some guns made in the 1950's and 1960's have grooved slide handle.

thanks ed, i think it has to be from the 50's. it was my fathers gun

I bought a new one in the early 50ties for about eighty nine bucks. I bought a sixteen in the middle to late sixties, the numbers start at 67------. It's a great slug gun.
