I read a recent report by Chris Kenyon on the ice conditions on Sodus Bay being pretty unpredictable right now. Does anyone know how safe it is out there right now? Looking to maybe head out that way this weekend....

Thanks -

Hey Chad,

I was out in front of Grassy point a few times this past week and the ice is between 5 and 8 inches thick. Nice walking now that the 2 feet of snow is gone! I've talked to several guys as they come the Bay an they all say the same thing... fishing is real slow. Alot of dinks but very few keepers at least in our area.

Good Luck

Chaz

Thanks for the report! I'll be heading out tomorrow, not sure where yet... Seems to be slow anywhere you go... Has anyone tried in front of the old coal trussel?? I haven't fished there in a couple years, but have done well there in the past...

Thanks for the report Chaz. This helps a lot. The fishing has been pretty slow almost everywhere I have heard of lately and was just looking for a change of scenery this weekend.

Yeah, I'm aware of the ice issues there - thanks for the reminder Jeff! If someone reported from there I was going to ask about the ice. I'll be heading there only if I have a companion with me... It's always safer with a second person, and more fun! 8)
