42 years ago in a far away land, in a country called Vietnam The bloodiest part of the war started Jan 31, 1968, It was called the TET Offense. So to the heroes I served with, those who died and those who made it home, I hold my glass high one more year in your memories

TET started 10 days earlier for me at a small combat base called Khe Sanh.

I lift my glass too all that served:

"HERE IS HEALTH TO YOU AND TO OUR CORPS, THAT WE ARE PROUD TO SERVE"

Funny how things come together. I'm heading to Hornell NY today to the funeral of another hero Marine, Zack Smith. Killed last weekend in our current conflict. He was one week on patrol, 19 yrs. old, married his childhood sweetheart last July. I was a short-timer and came home in Dec. 67 before our division (24 Infantry)was sent there.Welcome home to you all.

Get-A-Way

Welcome home to you as well. Back in the old corp we had a saying.

Another Marine reporting Sir, I have spent my time in hell.

So sorry to hear about your friend
