I just saw this downrigger cable stuff in cablas that is totally water resitant, and doesn't make nose like the wire downrigger cable does, i was woundering if anyone is using this stuff already and could tell me weather or not to get it, cause i've notice that my one downrigger that i use for my temp and speed gauge gets hit 9 times out of 10 and i was thinking its cause it's rapped in that rubber coating and doesn't make nose and if thats why it gets hit all the time?

If your talking about braid then I hope you dont mind clumps of fleas all over the place come flea season. The braid is real bad with the fleas. I deal with it, but most people wont. Also if you use it on a Cannon Downrigger you will loose your short stop feature.

As for your probe rigger taking the shots. Its probably because you have it sitting in the zone. What I mean is you are using it to find the ideal temperature. You cant stack another rigger within 10 feet of that depth mark or face the challenge of a tangle.

If you think your coated rigger cable may be the reason for the hits then put a coated cable on the other rigger. At least it will cut down on the noise. 11.gif
