For those D/C fans like myself I was sad to read Phil Harris died. He was by all appearances a hard livin' guy, but very likeable. I assume the new season was filmed with him alive, so watching it this spring will be strange knowing he is gone. RIP Phil

Commercial fishermen have been the objects of hatred by many involved in the sport fishing industry. The Discovery Channel shows they work harder than most people we know and are exposed to dangers none of which we would consider having part of. Captain Phil Harris is what the real world is all about and we should remember him for this.

What a tough life those guys have up in the Bearing Sea. A tough loss for the family and fleet. Captain Phil was a dedicated fisherman and he cared a lot about his crew. Hell he stayed out for days after the blood clot incident while fishing Opies. I'm sure the Boys(Jake and Josh) will carry on Phil's legacy and the Cornelia Marie will be at it again....RIP Captain.....
