Can anybody recommend a reliable reputable Mercury Outboard mechanic? I am looking to get my 9.9 4 stroke kickers carb rebuilt, and the engine tuned up to get her running smooth for brownie season a few weeks away!

The nearest one to me is Bryce -- and to put it "nicely" I would rather not deal with them ;)

Thanks in advance

 I understand your sentiments...ALL of it... i've taken to doing quite a bit of my own work. I can throw darts (trial and error repair) just as well as the shops can, but I don't charge myself anything when I don't get it right :P ...and I never complain about MY customer service!

let me know when you find one...particularly one who actually knows the ins and outs of the optimax well.

Call JIM @ 585-227-8656, He is here in Rochester and has a mobile service. I send all my clients and customers to him.

I do the marine electronics on the boats and he does the engines. He's factory certified and he works on the river at one of the dealers.

Keep it in house and call Hank, (L&M). He's given out more free advice on repairs on this site & deserves a little pay back. JMHO
