Ok very new to meat just got some flashers and heads my ? is. What is the proper ROLL everyone is taking about? I take it this is how the bait is spinning Is this a tight fast roll or a bit loopy roll? or does this very from day to day? Thanks

It should look like a corkscrew roll not a head tight spin. You bend the tab that the line to the hook goes through to change the roll. Sometimes I put the cut bait in a little crooked to help it.

I was one of the first to run meat & flashers on the North side of Lake O. I also ran charters for close to 30 years. When you've got customers onboard you don't want to waste time tuning your bait head to get the right roll so I've always used a Hot Spot Rollerbaiter head. They're equipped with a rudder that produces the correct roll on your bait. For the regular bait strip use the #3 head.

and to actually answer the OP's question, it should definitely have more of a barrel roll action than a spin, at about 1-2 revolutions per second when tuned properly.
