I allways wait untill the last possible minute , just like Chrismas shopping. It's more fun that way .

I always wait as long as I can, simply because they prorate the registration fees. No sense in paying for a registration when it is sitting buried in a snowbank all winter not going anywhere.

In MA it's a flat rate of

$way-to-much-a-year.00

If you register a trailer in November you got to pay the whole year and it expires the end of December.

Then in January they send you an excise tax bill, again for the whole previous year.

Are they still planning on making people get new plates? I thought it was the april time frame they were going to do it. If this is the case, if you can avoid needing your registration until then, you might not have to pay twice....
