Split Rings

There are some spoon manufatures that use split rings and some who do not. Has anyone taken the ring off of spoons that came with them and if so was there a difference in the spoon performance?

I don't personally think it makes a difference, but, some may argue. It seems that the split rings add another 'pivot' point and allows the spoons to flutter a bit more because you're not restricted by the size of the swivel. The spoon's pivoting around this little circular ring instead of this large, rectangular swivel.

I don't know. If it doesn't come with one, I don't bother putting one on. It's not a big deal to me..

I run them how they come in the package.

i go more as it depends what kind of snap you use.If its totally rounded then no ring needed if the snap is more d shape like most coast locks then ring recommended
