Did any of you guys see the show last week on Versus where Larry Dalburg did a show on fishing live bait for Musky? He compared the Quick Strike Rig to others and even to some that he made up himself that did not work very well. The last part of the show he sewed on a sucker with no hook at all and caught a monster muskie. I don't normally use live bait, but the show was interesting.

Yeah I watch religously. Mr Dahlberg is my hero. I cant imagine a better life than this guy! Do you see the places he goes and all the different kinds of fish he is targeting. How about the wolf fish. Man where do I sign up! :inlove:

Nitro: My thought is that there are few shows on TV that actually do episodes around musky. Dahlberg has shown an obsession that is similar to all of ours, and has really impressed me with his ideas, approaches, and care/safety he has for the fish. It is also nice that he does not throw Double 10s every show!

Just my 2 cents :)

I have to admit my wife and I both like the show, just funny that all of the sudden theres a flurry of topics on him here. I do wish that VS and Outdoor would carry the Musky Hunter show...but thats another story

We also like the similar show with the british guy (cant remember the show name). That show had quite a memorable episode where he investigates a fish that drills into other fish and eats them from the inside out. he tracked down a guy who had one swim 'upstream' while relieving himself where it got stuck 'inside' him and had to have it surgically removed :puke: :puke:

when the whopper plopper episode came on a couple weeks ago my wife came across it while I was asleep on the couch. She woke me up to tell me he was fishing muskies as Dalhberg was wrestling one to the boat. I glanced up and saw just a flash of the fish and said nah thats not a muskie and rolled back over. I got a smug told-you-so response, and she just won't let me forget it :D

i love him also, as does my father. what a life he has and he does think outside the box which is awesome. now that we are on that topic did u see where they noticed that a single 10 blade makes more noise than a dub 10? i plan on tying up a few of the single 10's after watching that episode, it was gonna be one of my secret weapons at the first tourney but don't tell anyone okay, but now its out so only u and i know right? on the top waters he also said that an un-balanced topwater like a tail prop bait makes a differant sound than a balanced prop bait like a globe. he said that through his experience the unbalanced version of a surface lure is superior most of the time at triggering a predatory response? the creepers also sounded awesome under water, but creepers don't catch any fish (lol). i could never believe how loud a twitched jake could be. made me never want to twitch a rattling bait ever again even though they are a staple for most people. makes me want a silent version. larry is the man b/c he thinks and doesn't just follow.

You are right Joe and I will add that in a world of commercialisim this guy actually comes out with a design and says if you want to make money on it just give me credit for the idea. I think thats the kind of guy we can all like! In a way its like this board and all the sharing of knowledge. We do it for the joy of the sport and nothing more!

larry is the man. all the other guys do it for a career/job. larry loves to fish and figured out how to make money at it. its plain to see he has ethics for the fisheries. how many "pro anglers" will get in the water to land a fish? none. thats too much like work, unless you genuinly enjoy fishing.
