Coming up this spring for the first in a while without a charter. Anyone have any good tips on baits. Used to run rapalas J-5&7's. Still good? Any tips on spoon sizes or other baits. Just want to have fun and put some fish in the boat.

Rapallas, smithwick rattlin rogues. Size 9&11 floating. Rapalla cold steel & beeeding copper good last spring. Goby a new color I'll be trying this year. Orange belly works best for me. Have fun!

Thanks will make sure I put some in my arsenal. I'm a bass fisherman by far but ever since my first trip up and my first King I've been "hooked" so to speak. I know speed is important different baits don't all work at the same speed. Any suggestions on how to get a variety out there and still keep the actions correct?

If you keep the speed between 1.8 and 2.2, I don't think you will have any problems with action. When in doubt, test it next to the side of the boat.

Has anyone tried trolling a sluggo way out back flat lined? We used them for tuna last summer and hammered them. I couldn't believe that a sluggo trolled on the surface with such a minute profile would take 5 of the 6 hits we had that day. I was thinking it might be worth trying on freshwater lakes early season.
