Lake Ontario / Salmon River Fall

I plan on making my first trip up to Lake Ontario and fish the mouth of the Salmon River in Aug.or Sept. What are the best lures to troll with and methods of trolling at that time of the year. What depths do you usually fish at? Thanks

110 feet is the most consistant depth in august and after that its anybodys guess. 110 seems to hold enough cold water on the bottom to keep new fish coming and staged fish happy till the rains.

if your going too be at the mouth of the river , J plugs green glow with black ladder back and chrome with bloody nose are the hot ones too run ! but if ur running off shore what these guys said will work or be a starting place! the weather will play factor , good luck
