whats your favorite sticKbait for shallow runnin(2 feet or less under surface)

I be using rapalas but sometimes dig too deep and hit weeds. the pike are in those weeds but

need a lure that rides shallow and draws them up.

spoons, let it out till it ticks the weeds and reel it up 5 feet then let it run. pike love that

Are you trolling Slimyfish? If so, I like 6" - 9" sledgehammers trolled on a flat line for getting in tight. They are floating lures but have a nice rounded face that pushes weeds aside easily. A good rattle with a mild side to side swimming action (nothing erratic). You could also run a leader (3-5 foot) up connected to a swivel that will help snag any weeds running down the line before they get to the lure. I can run the unweighted sledges between 1-3 deep.
