Northern Cayuga Lake

Fished some inlets this past weekend, caught three Pike one very nice measuring 26''. Also caught four bass mostly 1 lbs. but this 4 1/2 lb. beauty early afternoon on Sunday, using a spoon. Click picture to enlarge. Any suggestions on other Bass lures??

Nice Bass. Just about any Crank Baits seem to work up there. Rattle traps seem to do good for me also. Be careful with those Bass. Season does not open until 3rd Saturday in June....although you can catch and release. I also do really good with a red/white/gold Mepps #4 or #5 spinner.

Were the others Pickerel or Pike? I've caught hundreds of Pickerel up there but only one Pike ever in Cayuga.

P.S. I also launch out of the State Park a lot.

Actually all were pike except for one chain pickeral.. I wasn't actually fishing directly into the lake, its a little river that runs off of the lake, by Demont. I am also cognizant of bass season and catch and release, good looking out though Stout .. I just love the fight they put up, pretty much my favorite thing to fish for. Thanks for the lure advice!!
