stickbaits off planer boards

When you guys fish stickbaits such as rapalas off planer boards do you use a diver or anything else with them

Sometimes a split shot 8 ft above the lure, or a snap weight. It depends on how deep you want to get. Usually for Brown Trout along the shoreline 5-20 fow usually just the stickbaits and different lengths of line out.

When I fish the deeper edge I usually change over to deeper diving stickbaits.
