Spooling up Power Pro

I recently placed 30lb Power Pro on my Accudepth Plus 47lc and used it one time with a deeper diver. Well the next time I went to use the rod I noticed something wasn't right. Had issues reeling the line in and no matter how tight I set the drag I could pull line off. I noticed when the line came off that the spool wasn't spinning, so I thought (even though the schematic didn't show it) that the spool was two pieces and I hate busted something.

To make a long story short, after I unspooled the line(which did not come off smoothly, seemed like it was catching itself), I realized that wasn't eh case and it was the line slipping on the spool. So my question is should I be using a backing for Power Pro? Mono or electrical tape? Is there some special technique for spooling the line other than what the directions show on the box?

I am a total beginner, seems everyday I stumble across a new puzzle. I'd be completely lost if it wasn't for the resources and people that make up this website.

Found my own answer in the instruction booklet that was inside the box, just read the back of the box. Sorry
