niagara bar

Im new to lake ontario as some of you know. When people refer to the "Bar" what area is it exactly? I know its around the red can but can someone describe the actual bar better? Thanks

The Niagara Bar runs about 3-4 miles ether side of the Niagara river and out (past the red can) about 4 miles before it starts dropping off into deep water.
