Hey Guys,

I'm an avid Bass, Pike and Walleye fishermen but this summer I'm looking to tackle Lake Ontario Salmon. I'm looking for info on when, where, and how to takle these fish.

I'm all set up with the boat, rods and down riggers, Now all I need is some tips on techniques and locations. I was thinking of heading to the toronto region to find them but I can fish anywhere on the north shore.

spoons? plugs?

what depth?

how deep should i put the ball?

how far behind the balls should the lure be?

how fast should I troll?

Can you eat all fish or just smaller ones?

What about rainbows?

I understand that everyday is different I'm just looking for the general rules.

I have time to go in the next few weeks where would be the best location for this time of year?

any other tips?

Thanks in advance.

On the North Shore, once the lake sets up, the first place it really gets hot is the Darlington/Oshawa/Whitby area. The fishing in that area should fire up in the next couple weeks.
